Chinese president Xi Jinping is amassing an alarming amount of political power. If only his propaganda videos made the idea of unrestricted authority seem as troubling as the concept of singing children.

  1. 我爱中国,我爱共产党,我们十四亿人不会因为你们诋毁一下就亡国,我们仍然骄傲的矗立在世界民族之林

  2. This show was as if it was made by the CIA seemingly to debase China in a very propagandist way. Most examples such as the Uygurs lack important context. Free speech is an important thing and I am for it but it is not everything in regards to a fair society. You can call Trump an idiot but there is still Citizens United and a military with a 750 billion budget and millions without health care. The US still has more people in jail and felons lose their right to vote and many other basic rights. China must keep control at the top or risk anarchy and collapse. So at least the government is working toward lifting people out of poverty unlike others who believe in the exact opposite. This piece was a dishonest one, sadly as this show provides excellent social commentary and often lends intellectual depth to a hugely uneducated listenership

  3. Hey Oliver, you do understand that the report about China pulling 800 million people out of poverty was written by the China bank right?

  4. You would think in a democratic society, people are free to from their thoughts, as the West are so proud of their system and history. But no, in the West, what's dominant is the "manufactured consent" financed by the moneyed interest and the military-industrial complex. Why do you think Vietnam war and Iraqi war started? The West like to claim their "triumph" and "rise" were based on the Renaissance, Scientific Revolution, democratic system, etc, while conveniently forgetting how the West exploited resources from African and Asia to get to where they are today. Colonialism and imperialism didn't die, USA is the new empire who continue to brutalize the world with its unending wars and export of weaponry and arms. Most westerners are either too naive or too burdened with their daily struggles to stay afloat or they are part of the beneficiary of current system to see the light. But not Chinese! Chinese remember well what happened and when one day China is strong enough economically and militarily, we will stop the savage acts of the hegemonic system once and all.

  5. Yo I live in China and im watching this. I'm kinda scared that, according to my Chinese friends, the secret police is gonna come for me.
